FOREST Green boss David Hockaday has added former Arsenal striker Michael Uwezu to his injury ravaged squad.
Rovers currently have only two recognised strikers, Matty Taylor and Charlie Griffin, following injuries to Reece Styche and James Norwood.
The diminutive Uwezu started his footballing career with Arsene Wenger at the Arsenal academy before moving to the Fulham.
The 20-year-old then spent time at Lincoln City before signing a short-term deal with Northampton Town in League Two last season, making three first-team appearances and scoring once.
Rovers’ manager David Hockaday said: "We’ve signed Michael until January. He scored in a Reserves match against Brighton recently and also scored a couple in an internal trial, so he will be in this weekend’s squad for the home game against Alfreton."
Rovers’ injury list lengthened this week with Curtis McDonald (ankle), and Matt Bulman (knee)both ruled out.
Meanwhile, the SNJ understands Andy Sandell has returned to his parent club Wycombe Wanderers.
