Forest Green’s James Norwood is targeting a quick return following his hernia operation in Manchester today.
Norwood is set to be sidelined for a month, but the former Exeter City striker is looking to bounce back next month.
Norwood said: "The operation went really well and the surgeon filled me with confidence and I would like to return within three weeks."
Norwood’s loss will be a big blow to Hockaday’s side, who are already without top scorer Reece Styche.
"Nors has soldiered on for the last five games and has been absolutely magnificent during that time, but we hope to see him back in a month," said Hockaday.
Forest Green’s second string face Brighton at the New Lawn tonight, 7pm, and will be boosted by the return of striker Matt Taylor.
