IN the Lords SDCA Premier League, Byron Fry was the difference between the two sides as he hit a superb 135 of Leonard Stanley’s 203 at Tormarton.
Steve Goodwin took 5-32 for the home team who were then limited to 125ao as Fry took 5-30 to cap a memorable individual game.
Two shock results and the first a none more bigger one at Hardwicke where the home team dismantled Frocester IV.
Gareth Lees hit an unbeaten 119 including 16 fours and a six as Hardwicke posted 207-8.
Chris Hutchings with 5-25 and Paul Lane (4-12) then tore through the Frocester batting to see them dismissed for 53.
In the second shock the usual runfest at Woodchester did not appear. First Tom Shearman and Dave Gordon took four wickets each as Woodchester reached 129-9 on a tricky surface.
Minch found batting even more difficult on a wicket that defied predictions of settling down as they folded to 70 all out - Sam Wear and Paul Carter both took four wickets.
Rich Powis (34), Anth Perrins (38) and Brian Phillips (26*) contributed to Eastcombe’s 154-9 at Bisley where Ben Hunt took 4-33.
Bisley seemed in control with Gerry Baker hitting 39 as they reached 104-4 but then collapsed to 134 all out as Paul Morss (3-45), Mike Niblett (3-40) and wicketkeeper Pete Small (!) took 3-2.
Finally the toss was vital at Slimbridge where Rockhampton III invited the home team to bat. Tom Cullimore then took 5-15 to limit the home team to 100.
Despite the loss of two early wickets D Hill with 52 not out saw the leaders to a seven- wicket win.
In OnTheLimit Division One, Whitminster’s march back to the Premier League continues as they won at Uley.
Neil Williams hit an unbeaten 102 and Pars Ghadali 72 as Whitminster made 262-4. Jason Owens then took his second five- wicket haul of the season with 6-30 to dismiss Uley for 99.
Cam III overhauled Stroud III’s 120 to record a three- wicket win.
Rich Cox had top scored in Stroud III’s innings with 30 but Alex Ballard and Steve Rice both took three wickets.
In reply, Mark Hall scored 35 as, despite Cox’s 5-37 Cam III squeezed home. A comfortable win by Frocester V who made 190-7 against Hardwicke II. Both Ben Tegg and Rich Tuck made 40 as Hardwicke’s Hansell took 4-53. Ben Clare-Grey then hit 35, but three wickets each for Tuck, Gillett and Pritchard saw the visitors dismissed for 78.
In Division Two, Olly Hall took a magnificent 6-11 as Frampton III were limited for 103-9 at the Painswick Rec. Jacob Lee then hit an unbeaten 55 as Painswick IV reached their target for the loss of three wickets despite 3-36 from J Haywood.
Woodchester II’s won at Rockhampton IV. The home side were dismissed for 111 as Dave Parker and Andy Stratford both took three wickets. Woodchester II reached their target with just one wicket down.
