EASTCOMBE’S resurgent Lords Premier league form was stopped in its tracks as Hardwicke came away with a five-wicket win.

Eastcombe had hit 196-9 in their 40 overs, but Hardwicke claimed a surprise victory. A close game at St Peter’s Field where Frocester IV just held off Tormarton’s challenge to stay top.

Frocester were dismissed for 183 (Tom Pinker 45, Matt Morris 30, Ben Spires 4-44) but then Jake Roberts with 6-28 limited Tormarton to 172 despite 53 from Ben Spires and 44 from Jim Fannon. Gerry Baker (37), Joe Parfitt (45) and Ben Hunt (29) were the main scorers for Bisley in their total of 168-9 at Minchinhampton where Steve Rogers took 4-38.

In reply, Matt Price(43), Alex Waring (48) and Jaime Waring (32) seemed to be guiding Minch to a comfortable victory, but the dismissal of the Waring brothers led to a mini-collapse and a tight finish but Minch held on for a 3 wicket win.

Ollie Smith with (3-28) and Ben Hunt (2-37) were the main wicket takers for Bisley. Finally a high scoring game at Leonard Stanley where Paul Gabb (53) and Chris Uzzell (52) saw the home side to 245-7 which was just enough to overcome Slimbridge who reached 223-6 with Jeff Chandra hitting 88 and Adam Chalkley 66.

Steve Tegg hit his second OnTheLimit Division One century of the season as Frocester V won at Eastington.

Eric Woodmason took 6-20 for the visitors as they restricted Eastington to 147.

Tegg hit exactly 100 as Frocester V won by six wickets.

Whitminster remain top after a comfortable win over Cam III. M Clutterbuck and N Williams both hit half centuries to see Whitminster post 263-4.

D Ward then replied with 57 for Cam III who finished on 150-7.

A close game at Hardwicke II where the home side just held off Stone III.

Hardwicke scored 146 with Ryan Strain hitting 28 and Neil Carter taking 4-54. Chris Andrews hit an unbeaten 32 for Stone III who finished just ten runs short on 136 as Rupert Herniman took 4-42 and Paul Toomey 3-14.

A perfect weekend of cricket for Uley who, following their Junior K.O. Cup win on Friday night, travelled to Painswick III and came away with a seven-wicket win.

Painswick hit a challenging 188-9 with Mike Hewitt scoring 51 and Simon Linsell 39.

Danny Mead took 4-33 for the visitors who then claimed their win thanks to 72 from Tim Griffiths and 34 from Tom Williams. A tie at Cam IV in Division Two, where both sides ended 170 all out. Nat Powell hit an unbeaten 57 and A Longden took 4-20 as Stroud hit 170.

In reply, Roger Hall hit 33 but Cam seemed dead and buried before 39 not out from Hardic Shah, batting at 10 secured them a tie, Wesley Ellis taking 3-18 for Stroud IV. Slimbridge hit 188-9 at home to Rockhampton IV as Steve Collard (42), Bill Church (28*), Graham Dakin (32*) were in the runs.

The visitors then had no answer to Graham Dakin’s 5-17 and Ben John’s 4-9 as they were shot out for 56. Paul Nicholls hit 44 for Uley II as they hit 130 with Painswick IV’s D Poulson taking 3-28.

Paul O’Leary then helped himself to a superb 7-27 as Painswick III were dismissed for 70. Frampton’s decision to bat first backfired as leaders Woodchester II dismissed them for 105 and then cruised to a seven-wicket win.
