CHESTER City have turned down an approach from Luton Town for ex-Forest Green boss Jim Harvey.
Managerless Luton made an approach for his services 24 hours after he took over at the Deva Stadium.
City chairman Ian Anderson said: “I’ve spoken to Jim and set out the position of the football club. We rejected an approach and we felt it was only right to do that.
“Jim will be with us until the end of the season and then we will review his position, hopefully to the benefit of all parties.”
Harvey’s name continues to be linked with the vacant manager’s job at former club Tranmere Rovers.
Harvey said: “I have spoken to Stephen Vaughan and Ian Anderson about their decision to refuse Luton to talk to me, but I am not prepared to comment further on the matter.”
Meanwhile, Harvey is running the rule over Adriano Rigoglioso in training.
The Liverpool-born 30-year-old is currently without a club after leaving Grays Athletic and he has worked under Harvey at Forest Green and Morecambe.
