THE United travelled to Tewkesbury on Saturday to take on a team who play in a league higher and put in a spirited performance in a hollow defeat against a well-drilled side.
United once again gave the fringe players a chance to show what they can do and they put in a good performance.
Tewkesbury scored first with a converted try, but the United hit back with two converted tries of their own though Eddie Bressington and James Wynn who converted both to put them in control.
However, some sloppy defending allowed the homeside back into the game with another converted try before the interval.
In the second half the United came close on several occasions but good defence and wrong options kept them out.
Tewkesbury’s young backline fashioned up another try before a penalty finally killed off the United’s hopes of victory.
