MARLING have won the second round of the West-Mercia league, with a dominant team performance over the muddy six kilometre course of Hereford Sixth Form College.
It was a result of promise as Marling gained first, second, third and fourth places.
Matthew Withey ran confidently to take the victory, closely followed by Tom Curr. Withey’s second victory in the league makes him favourite for yet another individual title.
Andrew Kaighin was never under threat for third after a strong first half, with a satisfied James Gardner coming fourth.
Debutant Tom Bradley had a strong race for seventh place, showing the value of his introduction to the team.
Elsewhere, Harry Smith completed the scoring team achieving a fine ninth.
Other runners included Rob Sidwell in 11th, tracked by Igan Fadaei in 12th, both making senior team debuts.
Experienced Erfan Fadaei claimed 14th place, with Will Price 22nd respectively, just edging Nick Butler who’s recent injury saw vital training missed into 23rd.
The familiar trio of Andrew Watt, Troy Taylor and Henry Wakefield finishing 17th, 26th and 27th respectively.
A landmark for Josh Edwards completing his first West Mercia in 39th place.
