LEADERS King’s Stanley came from behind to record a 4-2 victory in the County League .
Stanley hit back on the half hour when Mike Beckingham was brought down in the box by a clumsy challenge and Nick Rieger made no mistake with the spot kick.
Two minutes later the Bluebells took the lead when Martin McDermott side-footed home following pressure by the persistent Mike Green and a cross by Matt Casey.
Stanley were looking the stronger side and when Steve Potter bravely went between the last defender and the goal keeper to head number three it looked to be game over but almost immediately they gifted the visitors a lifeline following a mix up in the defence presenting an easy opportunity.
Lifted by this goal the visitors began the second half in determined mood but came up against a solid Stanley defence but the single goal advantage never looked sufficient to be comfortable and keeper Gavin Dean was forced to make a couple of good saves to deny the visitors.
Beckingham was unlucky to see a header come back off the cross bar before the Stanley nerves were finally settled when Aidan Mercer combined well with Sam Prior down the right flank before striking the ball home from an acute angle to secure maximum points.
King’s Stanley would like to thank Royfast Limited for their support in sponsoring the match.
