CHALFORD AFC will begin the process of looking to replace manager Ben Powell and his assistant Ben Newman after the pair announced their departure.
The duo, who led Chalford to an unbeaten season in 2022/23 with 25 wins from 28 games, will leave at the end of the current season, which has been more of a struggle for the club.
Chalford currently sit 10th of 16 in Division One of the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League, albeit having played considerably less games than the majority of the teams above them.
Having enjoyed so much success, Powell and Newman now believe it is the right time to leave, and do so with the best wishes from Chalford.
Unfortunately Ben Powell and Ben Newman have decided to step down from their respective management positions at the end of the 2023/24 season," said the club statement.
"As a club, we would like to thank them for all their hard work and their contributions both on and off the pitch. They have certainly left the club in a much better place.
"Big boots to fill but we can’t thank them enough for their enduring support, passion and lastly but certainly not least, their friendship.
"We will be welcoming applicants to apply for the vacant managers role, but it's not something we will rush, as it needs to be the right person."
