SHORTWOOD have re-signed versatile former Forest Green Academy starlet Rendijs Kalnins.
Currently a student at SGS College in Filton, Kalnins started the season at Southern League Mangotsfield United following his release from Forest Green last summer and is currently training at National League North outfit Gloucester City.
Shortwood co-manager Jason Scrivens said: "Rendy came on a three-month loan from Forest Green last season and did really well for us and scored 10 goals. He's a versatile player who can play up front or in defence and will add healthy competiton to the group."
Shortwood welcome Bishop's Cleeve on Saturday in a rearranged Hellenic League Cup fixture. The original game was abandoned just before the break due to an injury to Wood midfielder Lee Bowles who sustained a broken leg.
