DAVID HOCKADAY is hoping his side don't suffer another bad day at the office when Skrill Premier heavyweights Luton Town rock up to the New Lawn on Saturday (3pm).
A frustrating day at Lincoln City's saw Hockaday's injury hit side undone by a last-gasp Waide Fairhurst strike after the City striker had earlier cancelled out a first half opener from Rovers captain Anthony Barry.
Rovers suffered an early pre-match blow with striker Matty Taylor sustaining an ankle injury in training and fellow forward Danny Wright falling ill at the team hotel on Saturday morning.
Hockaday said: "The passing wasn't good enough and it was just a bad day at the office. "We were in control after taking the lead and the only way I thought Lincoln would get back into the game was through a set-piece.
"We then gave one away, the ball gets deflected and it's 1-1. "The second half was just a mess from both teams to be totally honest."
Hockaday afforded starts for Yan Klukowski and Matthew Barnes-Homer in attack. Lincoln started brightly when Alan Power pulled the trigger from 25 yards with a shot that beat Sam Russell but clipped the side-netting.
However, Rovers broke the deadlock when Barry swung over a cross from the left and it nestled into the far corner of Paul Farman's net. City found parity when Rovers failed to clear a Sean Newton free-kick from the left, Fairhurst stabbed beyond Russell.
Barry tried to repeat his earlier effort, while Danny Rowe came close at the other end when he conjured a 30 yard strike. Rovers started the second half brightly with Klukowski narrowly off-target with a header from Jared Hodgkiss' cross in the 49th minute.
Lincoln's Andrew Boyce was lucky to escape with a yellow card two minutes later when his arm connected with Marcus Kelly's face as the midfielder tried to burst from the halfway line. Russell had to be on the money to tip Fairhurst's drive over on 63 minutes after Jam
es Norwood had been robbed of possession by Mamadou Fofana. Barnes-Homer was replaced by Magno Vieira with 19 minutes remaining, but the Imps nosed ahead. The impressive Fairhurst fizzed in his his second of the afternoon after a neat lay-off by Ben Tomlinson.
