NEWPORT County will stand by under-fire manager Peter Beadle, but have hit the Stroud-based man with a substantial fine and warned him that any future misconduct will result in him being sacked.

The decision of County's board of directors - follows Beadle's sending off in the recent FA Cup First Round clash with Swansea.

Beadle's dismissal was followed by fourth official Alan Sheffield being struck by a coin, which burst a blood vessel in his head.

County fans will be relieved to hear that the manager who has guided them to the top eight in the Conference South and the First Round of the FA Cup is staying on.

Chairman Blight has confirmed that the fine issued to Beadle by the club is "substantial" and it is understood to be a club record amount.

Beadle has also been warned that any future misconduct will result in his dismissal.

It is expected that Beadle will be hit with a lengthy touchline ban once the FAW disciplinary committee, currently investigating events, pass a verdict on the club and the manager.
