Gerrard League.

UW Aberystwyth 1 - Stroud Men's 1st XI 1 STROUD left it until the last minute to equalise in their Gerrard League Severn Division clash with the students of Aberystwyth.

Normally thriving on their quick change of pace and direction, Stroud were denied this luxury but still managed to take control during the first half.

Their defence was finally undone, however, as Aberystwyth conjured up a neat move to put the visitors behind. Stroud rallied once more and steadfastly refused to give in.

They pressed and pressed, stretching the play from left to right. Several short corners were earned but Stroud failed to convert them as the clock ticked down.

In a final flourish, Rob Dove strode out of his defensive area and nonchalantly weaved his way through the Aberystwyth defence.

His reverse stick pass was met by Alex Waring whose improvised shot looped over the despairing keeper to put the score level.
