ALLAN RUSSELL'S future may see the transfer-listed striker return to his family in his native Scotland but on Saturday he was the toast of Nailsworth with a fizzing strike that enlivened a far from impressive Forest Green.
Russell came off the bench to smash in a stunning 25-yard strike on 62 minutes from the edge of the box but his demands to start regularly have not found favour with boss Jim Harvey.
"When Allan came back from injury he said he wanted to get straight back in the team and told me he wanted to play every week," said Harvey.
"I couldn't guarantee that so he said he would like to move, which is okay. I f he wants to play somewhere else then that's fine."
Meanwhile, Tony Butler, Matt McEntegart and Christian Edwards, have all been told to seek other clubs.
Earlier, Saints enjoyed the lion's share of possession in the first half, taking the lead in the 42nd minute through Ben Walshe's left-footed finish after Steve Williams failed to deal with a wicked inswinging corner In truth, Williams had earlier pulled of a couple of stunning reaction saves before his blunder.
However, the hosts equalised two minutes later when Simon Clist score from 25 yards out on the left flank.
Russell gave Forest Green the lead three minutes after coming on but Elliot Benyon came off the bench to respond, thanks to Walshe's pass.
