MADAM – We came across this photo which we are fairly sure was taken in The Stirrup Cup, Bisley, then called The New Inn. We can identify the following (l to r), lady, front row Esme Restall, other lady Bessie Restall.
Bessie was Esme’s mother-in-law. Esme and Les Restall took over the pub from Bessie. The man behind is Albert Curtis (known as Nutty), Jack Drennan, George Hale. Slightly in front are Doug Jones, Harry Drinkwater, Dennis Larner, Norman Nation.
Don’t know man on the end. Bessie was my grandmother. Esme was my aunt. We were wondering if any other readers are related to or knew these men. All lived in Bisley area. We think it was possibly the skittles or darts team.
