MADAM – Further deterioration in local planning and growing dissatisfaction with planners is evident from an application to alter a single-storey doctors surgery to a three-storey block of 15 flats with insufficient parking here in Ebley.
Building of the mix of residential and commercial property is nearing completion, with the remaining surgery still to be built.
Developers Charles Church have now, at the eleventh hour, submitted an application to drastically alter the site and existing residents and new home owners alike are objecting strongly.
Cainscross Parish Council has supported the plan (prompting a resignation) and Stroud District Council also seems oblivious to the objections despite the cosy connection between the developer and the proposed landlord of the 15 flats.
Surely this type of money grabbing should be wrong?
Are our planners too weak or just frightened of litigation?
With both David Drew and Neil Carmichael blaming each other for the current fiasco, maybe they could start to resolve the problem right next door to Ebley Mill?
