MADAM - In response to Gloucestershire's Conservative County Council leader's letter as Conservative leader attacking the SNJ's editorial which questions the county pension funds investment in arms production and tobacco companies, I applaud your newspaper for taking this stance.
It is immoral that the county council is supporting investment into tobacco companies whilst also being responsible for public health.
Cllr Hawthorne hides behind some spurious references that Government guidance does not make it easy to make ethical investment decisions.
How about asking those that contribute into the pension scheme for their views?
Sadly, one can expect no more from a Conservative-led administration who, in line with their national parties policies, will always put profit before people.
