Stonehouse WI: Yarnbombing to Celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 90th Birthday
AFTER speaking to Stonehouse Town Council, Marlene Jordon from Stonehouse Women's Institute got permission to encourage local organisations and traders to decorate their windows, lamp posts, trees, seats etc in honour of our Queen's 90th Birthday.
Many of the traders really went to town decorating their windows, the Sue Ryder Charity shop, the Brownies and the Park Schools all played their part in decorating the High Street, as well as eight stalwart members of The Women's Institute who 'yarnbombed' - hanging knitted red, white and blue flags, bunting, pompoms, flowers and braiding around the town.
Stonehouse certainly played it's part in wishing her Majesty a Happy 90th Birthday.
