PETER Hanna co-founder of Bin Ends at the Bear Rodborough presented an excellent Rhone Valley tasting of wines which he personally selected to the satisfaction of another full house.
Peter’s 35 years in the trade certainly showed and all his wines were very well received.
Starting with a superb Condrieu, Skalli Les Tourrays 2010 sadly for special occasions at almost £30 we had a selection of reds from both northern and southern Rhone finishing with a Chateauneuf Du Pape at much more affordable prices.
Many of us were surprised to find that our favourite wine of the evening was from Crozes Hermitage, La MaurelleSkalli 2009 a modern organic wine with rich spicy fruit, good mouth feel and a lasting clean finish.
Top drawer wine at an affordable price.
