CHILDREN at King's Stanley Playgroup were flying high on the last day of term as they marked the end of their school year with a balloon race.
The event, which saw 200 balloons released into the sky, also doubled as an important fundraiser for the playgroup, which held its annual sports day on the same day.
"It was a great way to end our year and the children love the races on the field," said Hannah Watkins-Cave, the leader of the playgroup, which has just moved into new premises.
"Now that we have our own space, we have been able to extend our days and hours, recruit more staff and increase our intake, which is what local parents were asking for."
The playgroup runs five sessions a week, with limited spaces now available for the autumn term.
