THIS summer has seen Thomas Keble School hit the double once again as both their Year 7 girls doubles team and their Year 7/8 boys tennis squad both won their respective district championships in emphatic style.
The boys Year 7/8 tennis team took on Katharine Lady Berkeley School in their district final.
Both schools had won their leagues convincingly and this was the test to see who would be crowned champions of Stroud and Cotswold district.
The games started in earnest on a blisteringly hot afternoon with clear blue skies and scorching sun.
The boys were well prepared and began asserting their authority early on with some excellent serves and fantastic ground strokes.
It wasn't long before almost every pair had won their first sets and the pressure was on KLB to turn things around.
Ultimately KLB couldn't muster enough in reserve to get back into the match and Team TK finished 4-0 winners in emphatic style.
This is now the second year running they have won this title.
Meanwhile, the girls team made up of Freya Kay and Bethan Long in Year 7 won all their group matches at the Stroud Tennis Tournament before winning their final in impressive style without dropping a set.
Both girls play at Chalford Tennis Club and are destined for great things in the future.
They were also both part of the winning district netball team.
The Olympic Legacy lives on at Thomas Keble School!
