ON Wednesday, July 3, 2013 national demonstrator Diane Fair travelled from Cheshire to arrange flowers for Nailsworth Flower Club.
Diane delighted her audience by creating six fabulous flower arrangements and entertained us with her amusing anecdotes.
The first arrangement used a wooden container made by Diane from pieces of driftwood.
The flowers were white anthuriums and white carnations with blue hosta foliage.
The second arrangement used wreaths of turquoise and lime green midelino sticks incorporated into an arrangement which included pale green carnations and green cymbidium orchids.
Next we had a stunning arrangement of pink roses and stargazer lilies on a horizontal stand complemented by an accessory wrapped with strands of pink and cerise shades of wool.
This was followed by a very contemporary arrangement of two placements of yellow roses surrounded by tall pale stems of stripped willow.
Later Diane used a very large piece of driftwood, this was enhanced by exotic pink proteas and stems of variegated leucadendron.
For her final arrangement Diane used her favourite colour, lime green.
For this arrangement she used Anastasia chrysanthemums, orchids and molucella with hosta leaves and harmonising foliage.
A second matching arrangement was brought out to intensify the finale.
The vote of thanks was given by Sheila Read.
The beautiful arrangements were all raffled after the demonstration.
The flower arranging competition was won by Rose Grant and Rose was presented with the silver candelabra.
Meetings are held at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of every month at Nailsworth town hall visitors are always most welcome.
