A STROUD apprentice is celebrating after taking home a top prize at an awards ceremony.
Oliver Allen, 22, an engineering apprentice with Corin Medical, was awarded the Advanced Apprentice of the Year title at this year’s Thames Valley National Apprenticeship Awards.
The winners and highly commended entries were announced at a prestigious awards ceremony, which was held at The Hilton Hotel in Swindon, on Thursday, September 18.
The awards, now in their eleventh year, are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognise excellence in two areas — businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices and apprentices who make a significant contribution to their workplaces.
All the Thames Valley winners will proceed through to a final judging stage and those judged to be the very best of the best will have the additional honour of featuring in the acclaimed Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list.
The list is produced by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City & Guilds and will be revealed along with the national award winners during the national ceremony at the LG Arena in Birmingham on Thursday, November 13.
