TOY Story 3 (U) is the final installment of a trilogy that began in 1995, and another fantastic animated creation by Pixar studios.

In the third film, directed by Lee Unkrich, we see Andy (voice of John Moris) as a 17-year-old teenager, on the brink of college, who has outgrown the old toys he once so dearly loved.

Believing they are no longer wanted, and in search of someone to play with them, the celebrated gang decide they would be better off being donated to Sunnyside Daycare centre than being thrown out as rubbish, not realizing that Andy had wanted to store them in the attic whilst he was away at college.

Only loyal Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) realizes this mistake, leaving it his responsibility to convince the other toys that Andy has not in fact abandoned them.

The initial excitement of being played with once again quickly wears off however when the toys find themselves at the hands of some highly strung, ruthless young children who have no idea how to play with toys.

What’s more, Sunnyside Daycare centre is under the control of a bitter bear, Lotso, who tries to hold the toys captive, making their escape no easy task.

It takes all the skills and expertise of the toys to escape the clutches off the day-care centre and make their way back to Andy, where they finally end up with a young girl called Bonnie, who treats her toys with the same devotion and compassion as Andy once did.

Humor, love and friendship are at the forefront of this charming film, and an emotional closing scene will leave viewers with a sense of sadness and nostalgia as Andy begins the next chapter in his life.

A truly enjoyable experience, Toy Story 3 certainly deserves the record-breaking box office opening it received.
