STROUD Town Council has pledged a further £5,000 to assist residents in Paganhill who have been working tirelessly to restore their village hall.
Almost £50,000 has already been raised to modernise the Maypole Hall in Stratford Road.
New toilets, insulation, electric and water supplies, lighting, heating and sound-proofing are already in place.
New furniture, windows and CCTV are in the pipeline.
Now the town council has agreed to set aside £5,123 in next year’s budget to support a £50,000 grant application for a new kitchen and solar photovoltaic panels to generate electricity.
Stroud Mayor Andy Read and MP Neil Carmichael recently joined residents and community groups in an open morning at the Hall to see the work so far.
