STEVEN Davies was given a 14 month driving ban after a police officer heard him shout that he was going to drive home drunk, Stroud Magistrates’ Court was told.
Davies, 26, of Bridge Street, Cainscross, was pulled over in Cheapside, Stroud, around 2.15am on Sunday, July 11.
A breath test found 52mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mg.
Despite being given a 12 month suspended sentence in January, magistrates decided not to activate this and instead ordered he do 20 hours unpaid work.
He was also fined £240, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
