A CHECKOUT assistant was threatened with what is believed to be a penknife at the Little Pound Shop in Newerne Street, Lydney.
The 67-year-old male employee was uninjured in the attempted knifepoint robbery around 9am yesterday, Monday, August 2.
The offender is described as a white man, of slim build, and is said to have been wearing a grey hoodie and black trousers with a scarf across his face.
Nothing was stolen from the shop.
An 18-year-old man from Lydney was arrested last night in connection with the incident and has been bailed to appear at Gloucester police Station on August 29.
