A GIANT sunflower has stunned keen gardeners Mandy and Adrian Timbrell by towering above all other summer foliage in the neighbourhood.
The green-fingered couple planted the mammoth shrub in April and were recently shocked to discover it had reached the dizzying height of more than 11 foot tall in the back garden of their home in Stanton Road, Cashes Green.
Their son Adam said: "We plant sunflowers every year but this is by far the tallest one we have ever had.
"We had not paid much attention to the garden in a while so we were quite shocked find what was growing out there."
