Police in Stroud are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Cainscross Road in which a man had cash stolen from him.

The incident happened between 10.15pm and 10.45pm on Tuesday, July 6 as the 21-year-old man was walking with his girlfriend along Cainscross Road. They were approached by a young man on a bicycle who asked for 50p, which they refused to give, at which point the man blocked their path using his bike and asked again for 50p. He was then joined by a second man who asked for money and so the victim looked through his wallet at which point the young man stole £50 in cash from him.

Both men then left the scene in the company of a woman who had been on the opposite side of the road during the incident.

The young man was described as around 16-years-old, white, of average build with short blonde hair. He was wearing a white sports style t-shirt with black markings on it and riding a BMX style bike.

The man that joined him was described as white, between 30 and 35-years-old and of very slim build. He was wearing a red polo neck with very fine horizontal white lines.

Officers are eager to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and the woman that was seen in the area. She was described as being in her early 30s, about 5ft 5" tall with blonde hair pulled into a pony tail. She was wearing black clothing.
