PUPILS at Nailsworth Primary School celebrated the last week of term in style after winning £200 in a World Cup sweepstake.
Sport First, a professional sports agency which provides representation to professional sportsmen, organised the sweepstake with primary schools in Gloucestershire.
School receptionist Sarah Edwards was asked to chose a number and she picked 21 - fortunately for the school that number corresponded with Spain.
After England were knocked out of the tournament, Nailsworth's keen football fans continued to watch with anticipation as Spain made it further and further into the competition - and then beat Holland in the final.
On Thursday children were visited by a representative and mascot from Sport First who presented the school with its cheque for £200 during an assembly.
The money will be spent on sports equipment and a play area for the younger children.
Pupils also had the chance to pit their shooting skills against the Sport First mascot Betsy.
