STROUD Police are appealing for anyone with any information about an assault in the town to come forward.
At 1.35am this morning, Monday July 26, a 27-year-old man attended Stroud Police Station to report that he had been assaulted on King Street.
The incident happened between 1am and 1.45am when the victim was approached from behind and assaulted, he did not see the offender.
He suffered a black eye and minor injuries to his elbow.
Officers are particularly eager to speak to two women who were sat on a bench nearby who it’s thought witnessed the incident and spoke to the victim shortly after.
These women, and anyone with any information about the assault, is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 19 of July 26. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
