STROUD Police are appealing to the public for information after two men were assaulted on the Slad Road at the junction with Birches Drive in the early hours of Sunday, July 18.
At around 3.30am a 21-year-old local man, his girlfriend and their friend were walking home from Stroud along the Slad Road when they were approached from behind by a group of four or five men who assaulted the 21-year-old causing him to suffer a cut to the head and bruising to his face, head and mouth. He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.
His friend, an 18-year-old man from Stonehouse, intervened and suffered a broken nose and ribs.
The offenders then ran from the scene in the direction of Gloucester Street.
The men were all described as white, with their hair shaved and aged between 20 and 26. All were wearing jeans and t-shirts, one of which had a t-shirt which said ‘I Love Me’ on it; another was wearing a t-shirt with a blue horizontal stripe.
