THE Stroud-based Cotswold Prostate Cancer Support Group is one of 25 Gloucestershire charities to benefit from grants courtesy of county fundraising organisation The Old Spot Trust.
A total of more than £10,000 worth of donations was split between a host of causes at the Trust’s awards evening in Gloucester on Wednesday, July 7.
Prostate cancer group founder Robin Ewart, who lives in Stonehouse, plans to use the grant to launch an awareness campaign while another recipient, Canine Partners, which trains dogs to assist severely disabled people, will use the funds to help set up a Gloucestershire arm of the charity.
Dursley Rugby Club, which also received a share of the cash, will focus on developing its facilities.
The Old Spot Trust is a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising funds for Gloucestershire charities and community groups.
