MORE than 60 soft toys leapt from the dizzying heights of St George’s Church in King’s Stanley as part of a fun-filled teddy bear parachute jump on Saturday, July 10.
Children and adults alike proudly watched as their favourite cuddly creatures descended gracefully from the tower during the event, which raised almost £450 for the church.
Despite a few teddies having to be rescued from the roof, each participant received a chocolate medal and certificate for their efforts while visitors enjoyed the sunshine, cream teas and a browse around the stalls.
Margaret Fedrick, who helped organise the fundraiser on behalf of St George’s Parochial Church Council, said: "Altogether it was a really successful afternoon and it is so nice to have a proper summer for once to enjoy events like these."
