ORGANISERS of Nailstock have announced the formation of a new company to run the popular music and arts festival.

The new organisation is a company limited by guarantee and its formation creates a base for next April's event.

Nailstock Events Ltd will consist of two directors, Chris Gregory, Nailstock organiser, and Phil Platts, company secretary.

There will also be a number of members who make up the organising committee of Nailstock.

Members include Andrew Longhurst, Emily Barker, David Jones, and Jonathan Duckworth.

Chris Gregory said: “This is fantastic news for Nailstock, a really sound base for the event to be built on.

"The board and members have a wealth of talent and experience and we are all really committed to putting on a fantastic event in April.”

The event aims to showcase art and community projects, orchestral music, folk, country, blues, jazz, cabaret, solo performers and rock and pop bands.

It was cancelled in 2009 and 2010 after soaring costs and a lack of volunteers.

Organisers say Nailstock will take place next year on the last weekend in April at the King George V Playing Fields, Nailsworth.
