SCENES for a forthcoming Gordon Ramsay food show are being filmed in popular Stroud restaurant JRooL today, Wednesday.
A Channel 4 film crew are spending the day at the Union Street bistro as part of a feature for the celebrity chef’s forthcoming show Ramsay’s Best Restaurant, which aims to seek out and expose Britain’s best-loved eateries.
The crew, which is not thought to include Gordon, will be given a specially selected lunch menu to sample.
Last September, JRooL welcomed a different Channel 4 crew researching the UK’s favourite local restaurants for Gordon’s popular F Word food show.
Joint owner Jason Campbell said Channel 4 were interested in revisiting after receiving positive feedback from customers.
"It is absolutely fantastic, that little bit of recognition goes a long way.
"We are very grateful to all our loyal customers for once again standing by us.
"The meals we will be serving the crew are a little more refined and more similar to our evening menu than our lunch one."
He added that the restaurant is still open to the public on the day, although bookings are being taken fast.
