THE Space Cinema Club returns next weekend with Living in the Valley, a film made by a Chalford resident about Chalford and its eclectic collection of residents, many of whom are into numerous alternative lifestyles.
Made by Christine Felce, a sound recordist in the film industry, Living in the Valley is a documentary following Chalford through one year.
"A few unrelated events happened which started the project off," said Christine.
"I was recovering from surgery, which gave me time out of my job, my mother died and left me some money, Iris, a life time resident of the village, was moving out which gave me a subject to start with and 15-year-old Faye Vick was interested in film and volunteered to work with me once a week.
"People in the village have been so supportive of the project. One of the big events that was happening when I started was the village shop and post office was to be run entirely by volunteers, over 30 of them.
"Eighteen months on and the shop is still surviving but needs a manager, finance and possibly new premises.
"I hope Living in the Valley helps my community to at least find a manager for the shop and maybe get some screen time at film festivals."
The film, which has taken two years to complete, will be showing at The Space, Lansdown, Stroud on Sunday, March 12 at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced £5 or £4 concessions, are available from the venue. Club membership is £2 per calendar year. People wishing to see the film are advised to come early to ensure a seat.
