THE nemesis that is Gary Owers injury crisis is causing reason for concern ahead of this Saturday's trip to York City (3pm).

Club captain and central defensive kingpin Jon Richardson and Adam Garner are likely to play no part in the rest of the season. Richardson has not played since picking up a lower stomach muscle injury against Altrincham on January 21 and has been told to rest completely for two months.

Meanwhile, Garner requires an operation to correct a shoulder problem with an anticipated recovery time of six months. To negate these problems Owers has trawled the short- term loan market for possible cover. He has brought in Cardiff City Reserves skipper Byron Anthony on a months loan.

Anthony made his debut alongside Abdou Sall in the 3-2 defeat at Morecambe last Saturday. Owers has also added former Exeter City midfielder Brian McConell to his squad.
