AT times Forest Green boss Gary Owers can look like a bear with a sore head, but on Saturday it was smiles all-round.
Goals from Julian Alsop, Abdou Sall, Johnnie Hayes, Paul Wanless and Bruno Teixeira gave Forest Green a 5-1 victory over Scarborough and erased the memory of the FA Trophy defeat at Stafford Rangers.
A far happier Owers said: "Last weekend was not a happy one for the Owers household, but I think the wife and kids have marked this down as a good day.
"We've shown what we can do on a good day. The players have admitted this week that they've not been consistent enough - that's what we're aiming for."
Owers reserved special praise for Rovers' much maligned keeper Ryan Clarke by adding: "That is the best he has played. He has had his critics this week, but today showed how good he can be."
Morecambe v Forest Green
FOREST GREEN travel to Morecambe this Saturday with a selection crisis. Paul Wanless will miss out after picking up a fifth yellow card against Scarborough.
Johnnie Hayes has returned to Reading and Julian Alsop is a major doubt after hobbling off last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Jon Richardson's nagging groin injury keeps him out. Sekani Simpson will be hoping to recover from an ankle injury that forced him to miss the Scarborough clash.
A SUPPORTERS coach will be running to Morecambe. For details call Brian Fream on 01453 832858.
FOREST GREEN welcome Gravesend next Tuesday, 7.45pm.
