WORLD-renowned skaters the Russian Ice Stars are bringing the magical production Snow White on Ice to Cheltenham's Everyman this week.
Promising to be their most lavish production to date, Wild Rose (the show's production company) commissioned an original musical score from celebrated Italian composer Maestro Silvio Amato, and using a full orchestra created a magical soundtrack to which the story unfolds.
This is the first time in the history of Wild Rose that a soundtrack has been written to fit the choreography and not the other way around and the results are said to be stunning.
"Snow White on Ice features all the characters from the original fairytale in a fabulous, theatrical ice show," said Everyman spokesman Meg Jackson.
"Elegant and exhilarating, combining thrill-a-minute skating with beautiful music, this show is a must for all ages from three to 103."
With an enlarged company of world class skaters, has produced a choreographic masterpiece set to stunning backdrops and beautifully costumed.
The choreographer, Caverliere Giuseppe Arena, has also been selected to choreograph the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics to be held in Turin in February.
He has worked simultaneously on the Olympic opening and the production of Snow White on Ice.
The skaters are all former national, European, World and Olympic competitors and are regarded by many as the finest team of professional skaters in the world.
This year the company welcomes back Loulia Barsukova, gold medallist from the 2000 Olympics.
Snow White on Ice runs from Tuesday, February 14 to Saturday, February 25. Tickets and times are available from the box office.
