THE owner of a Stroud boutique has been forced to change the name of her business - because customers keep mistaking it for a sex shop.
Since opening Slippery Nipple in High Street, Jo Holness has had to fend off a steady stream of dubious customers with strange saucy requests.
The shop - set up with a loan from the Prince's Trust - sells nothing more exotic than women's clothes and accessories along with a tasteful range of underwear.
Miss Holness came up with the cheeky name while enjoying a glass of her favourite shooter - a mix of Bailey's Irish Cream and Sambuca - in popular Stroud pub The Retreat but now wishes she ordered a pina colada instead.
"I get some very strange men in here asking for horrible things when all we do is eveningwear," said Miss Holness, 30.
"One bloke phoned up and asked if we sold women's underwear.
"When I said we did, he told me he was a 36D and asked if he could try some on.
"Another time, a really old man came in asking for crotchless knickers. "We get prank calls every day.
"When I opened I thought the name would be a great way to get noticed. "But now the joke is wearing thin.
"It's a shame because I have built up a bit of a name for myself but people associate it with all the wrong things."
The shop closed for refurbishment on Monday and has now reopened with a more sophisticated interior under the name LittleBlackDress.
