Under-15s District Final
Marling u15s 7 Wycliffe College u15s 17
WYCLIFFE came from behind to capture the Under-15 District Cup in a pulsating clash with Marling at Fromehall Park.
Earlier, Marling had a slight edge in the backs and they had used this to score the only try before half-time, successfully kicking the conversion. In the second half Wycliffe stepped up a gear and dominated the play inside the Marling half throughout.
However, Luke Rapson ran in a superb try out wide and kicked a difficult conversion to draw parity at 7-7.
In the first half of injury time, Wycliffe put constant pressure on Marling and were eventually awarded a penalty which Rapson kicked - it was then 1 0-7.
In the dying seconds of the match, James Stafford Michael broke away and fed to Darren McQuade who was pulled down by a high tackle. The referee gave a penalty try which Rapson again converted and sealed the Wycliffe victory at 17-7.
