IDEAS for a logo for the Stroud district have been rolling in to the SNJ offices.
Three weeks ago, we printed five designs by Bridge Associates, which was commissioned to create a successor to last year's infamous pink cow logo, which caused hilarity when it was suggested as a symbol.
We invited readers to submit their own ideas (SNJ report, Wednesday, October 12) - and here are a selection of the logos we have received.
Whitminster-based artist, who submitted many designs, Terry Devereux said: "I feel that the area is more covered in sheep than cows, so I put sheep in. I am an artist-calligrapher anyway, so I thought I'd experiment."
The project was initiated by the Creating Wealth Syndicate, which aims to bring more investment to the area.
Chairman Terry Morgan said the syndicate would consider our readers' ideas. "The new logo isn't fixed in stone," he said. "We are quite happy to see them all."
*SNJ readers can send their own ideas for a Stroud district logo to the SNJ, 6 Lansdown, Stroud, GL5 1BE.
