WOMEN beware, two Stroud friends are following in the footsteps of TV's Trinny and Susanna and launching their own dedicated personal shopping service in the Five Valleys, writes Katie Bilboa.
Shop For You - set up by Claire Monaghan and Leslie Williams - offers five different services for people who want to retain a sense of style in their life but don't have time to trawl through magazines and traipse around shops.
Claire and Leslie, from Rodborough, came up with the idea last year. The aim was to combine Claire's background in art and fashion with Leslie's extensive retail experience - she has worked for Yves Saint Laurent, Hobbs and House of Fraser, among others.
Both women have young children, which was a major consideration when setting up their business.
"We wanted a job we'd enjoy that we could fit around our kids," said Claire.
"Since we started researching it, three or four other personal shoppers have also set up in this area.
"I think people's lifestyles nowadays mean they have less time to spend on these things - it's already really big in the US and Canada."
The personal shopping and wardrobe analysis service provides help and advice on what and more importantly what not, to wear.
The women also offer a gift buying service targeted mainly at working men without the time to buy presents for their loved ones, or for men who are simply clueless about gifts.
Leslie and Claire offer brides help in choosing a dress and planning their big day provide personal shopping gift vouchers and arrange style parties in customer's own homes.
They also have their own website at www.shopforyou.co.uk
