A MOTHER-OF-TWO is calling for thieves to return a Landrover left to her by her recently deceased father after it was stolen from her Stroud home - for the second time this year.

Patricia Tinsey is desperate to retrieve the 1991 Defender 90, which was a cherished memorial to her father - Cranham farmer Don Tinsey, who died two years ago.

The green 4x4, the family's only vehicle, was stolen in March this year but was later found in woods near Birdlip, miraculously free of damage.

But it disappeared again last Monday.

"Last time I was devastated - this time I am just so angry," she said.

"These people do not give a damn that there was any sentimental value.

"I don't feel gutted because of the money or the fact it was our only mode of transport - it is because it was my dad's."

When the vehicle was returned after the first theft, police commented on how thrilled she was.

"The policeman said he had never seen anyone so happy to have a stolen vehicle returned," she said.

The loss of the vehicle means she can no longer drive her two daughters Harley, 13, and McCoy, 11, to see friends in the summer holiday.

"It has really put the kybosh on that," she said.

She had already alerted local farmers and landowners to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

Gloucestershire police spokesman Matt Ford said: "This vehicle was clearly of great sentimental value to its owner.

"We would appeal to anyone who may have seen it, or who may have information as to its current whereabouts, to get in touch."

It was taken between 7.45pm on Monday, August 15 and 7.45am the following morning.

Anyone with information should call police on 0845 090 1234 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
