FORMER Norwich City striker Zema Abbey is set for his Forest Green home debut and could be handed a starting spot alongside Lewis Haldane, with Gary Owers aiming to freshen up his strike force.
The duo will come into contention for this Saturday's home clash with Halifax Town (3pm) and the Bank Holiday Monday trip to Exeter City (3pm).
Abbey ,28, featured as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat at Altrincham on Saturday, and comes to The Lawn with impressive credentials in a career blighted by injury.
He moved from Cambridge to Norwich for £350,000 five years ago.
Unfortunately a knee injury ruled him out of the majority of the 2001/02 season. In only the third game of the 2003/04 season he injured his other knee and was ruled out of the remainder of the season.
In August 2004, Abbey joined Boston United on loan. After his release from the Canaries, Abbey briefly joined Wycombe and then Bradford City.
After training with Stoke, Abbey joined Torquay last March. He was released two months later following Torquay's relegation to League Two.
In July , he trained with Barnet and Stevenage before linking up with Forest Green last week.
