ENTRY forms for next year's Undiscovered Youth Talent Contest, organised by The Door Youth Project, are now available.
"We will be holding auditions throughout October, November and December," said organiser Brendan Conboy, "and the grand final will be taking place at The Subscription Rooms on January 29 next year.
"People may think that there is plenty of time to enter, but audition places are limited and we have been receiving at least one application a day since the forms were issued."
Last year over 50 acts were auditioned, with the top 26 going through to the final. Judges for the final are all drawn from the music and entertainment industry and prizes include time in a recording studio.
"Each year the standard increases," added Brendan, "but we'd be very keen to hear from more young male vocalists. Anyone between 11 and 25 years old can enter. People have come to audition just because a friend said they should and some of them have gone on to the final.
"Some of them arrived not really believing that they could do it; it's the best thing about this competition, to see a young person develop a sense of worth."
The Undiscovered Youth Talent Show has now worked with over 150 talented young people.
The closing date for entries is October 30, but audition places are strictly limited so early entry is strongly recommended.
