Nationwide Conference Forest Green Rovers 0 Scarborough 1

FOREST GREEN ROVERS were cruelly denied a share of the spoils after Keith Gilroy snatched victory deep into injury time.

While Rovers, who moved off the bottom last week after Northwich Victoria's points deduction, were hardly inspiring they did show some semblance of hope with new-recruits Jefferson Louis, Adam Garner, Dean Loxton, Adam Garner and Dean Williams all producing solid enough performances.

Rovers held first half sway with Charlie Griffin inducing a sprawling Peter Keen response after Stuart Roberts and Louis conjured the opening.

However, with Rovers' midfield lacking creation and a leader Scarborough flowed forward only to find Williams in redoubtable mood.

Nonetheless, Louis was proving the cutting edge that once earned Neil Grayson The Lawn acclaim and it was Louis' endeavour that saw both Griffin and Loxton threaten. Louis showing a deft touch for such a big man almost broke the deadlock on 42 minutes, but his strike was superbly pushed away.

After the break Matt Gadsby sliced high wide and not very handsome after Louis burst down the Seadogs right. Garner's deflected shot saw the resulting corner drop onto the head of Jon

Richardson, who will be frustrated that his downward header was comfortably gathered. However, Williams brought the save of the match with an 84th minute tip-over from the boot of Gilroy.

Just when a point looked safe up popped Gilroy to snatch the spoils.
