A STROUD town councillor resigned on Monday due to the looming recession.
Andrew Fisk said he regretted the decision but needed to concentrate on holding down his job in the software industry.
The Liberal Democrat, who has represented the central ward for the last 18 months, said he would return to public life when he circumstances improved.
A by-election will be held to find a replacement.
