FOLLOWING the sell-out success of The Ugly Duckling in 2007, Red Dog are set to bring their own adaptation of The Frog Prince, by the Brothers Grimm, to Star Anise Cafe on Sunday at 12 noon.
Prince Ned is getting ready for his Christmas fancy dress party and tries to use magic to help him, with catastrophic results! Meanwhile crosspatch Princess Polly finds it hard to make friends, and certainly has no intention of taking a slippery slimy frog home to tea.
“Our version of this delightful fairytale is full of humour and magic,“ said Jude Emmet, the director and adaptor, “with some lovely quirky characters for the children to enjoy. But like all good fairy stories, underlying the fun there is a gentle message at its heart about the nature of friendship, which we hope will touch a chord with all our audiences young or old.”
The show is aimed at children aged three and upwards and lasts 45 minutes.
Tickets available from Star Anise.
